Creepy Halloween Dinner Party Ideas For Food {But It Still Tastes Great}
Main Dish: Eyeball Pasta
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 c. Panko bread crumbs
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
- 1 egg, beaten
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb. spaghetti
- 1 1/2 c. marinara sauce of choice, warm
- fresh Mozzarella, cut into rounds
- sliced black olives
Process:
Start by heating your oven to 400F and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, mix beef, onion, bread crumbs, garlic, parsley, and egg together in a large bowl before seasoning with salt and pepper. Continue to mix until just combined, then shape into 1″ balls and place on the baking sheet.
Next, bake the meatballs for about 13 minutes before adding a round of cheese and an olive slice for eyes. Then return meatballs to the oven and cook for another two minutes.
While the meatballs are baking, cook spaghetti according to package directions for al dente. Then drain and put cooked noodles onto a chosen serving platter before topping with marinara sauce and topping with eyeball meatballs. Serve and enjoy!
Side Dish: Mashed Potato Ghosts
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 lbs. russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. heavy cream
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. reserved liquid from cooking potatoes
- Salt and White pepper
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. cooked green peas
Process:
Begin by putting the potatoes into a large stockpot with the salt and enough water to cover the potatoes. Then bring the mixture to a boil before reducing to a simmer and allowing the mixture to simmer, covered, for 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are soft.
After potatoes have reached the right consistency, drain all the water, making sure to keep 1 Tbsp. for later. Next, melt the butter and stir in the heavy cream. Then pour reserved water and cream mixture into a bowl with the potatoes and mash until smooth. You can add more cream if you need to thin the potatoes a little bit. Then salt and pepper to taste.
Next, stir in Parmesan cheese and beaten egg until completely combined with potatoes. Then put potatoes into a piping bag or large ziploc bag with the corner cut off. Next, pipe the ghosts onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes at 375F. Halfway through baking, remove the ghosts and add two peas for the eyes. Then return to the oven and allow to finish baking. Serve and enjoy!
Side Dish: Witch’s Finger Breadsticks
Ingredients:
- 1 pkg. Pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tbsp. water
- sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and/or Parmesan cheese
- raw whole almonds
Process:
Begin by heating your oven to 450F and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper, then set aside. Next, roll out the pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface. Then cut the dough into about 8 equal slices and give each slice a roll between your hands. It’s totally okay for them to be lumpy and unequal, it will make them look more gruesome!
Next, place the breadsticks on the parchment-lined baking sheet and let rest for a few minutes. While the fingers are resting, whisk the egg and water together until completely combined. Then brush each finger with the egg wash before sprinkling either sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or grated Parmesan cheese on top. Finish by pressing one raw almond into the end of each “finger.”
Then bake for about fifteen to twenty minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Drink: Creepy Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
- 4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 1/2 c. marshmallows
- 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows
- 1/2 c. miniature chocolate chips
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Process:
Start by combining all ingredients in a saucepan and cooking over medium-low heat until the marshmallows melt and disappear. While the mixture is warming, press a miniature chocolate chip into the end of a miniature marshmallow. Ladle the hot chocolate into mugs and top with some “eyeballs”!
Dessert: Cupcakes For Brains
Ingredients:
- 12 cupcakes from your desired mix
- 2 c. strawberry frosting (store bought is okay)
- 2 c. strawberry pie filling
- red gel food coloring
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1 Tbsp. baking cocoa
Process:
Once your cupcakes have been baked and allowed to cool, fill each with a tablespoon or so of strawberry pie filling. Then, using a knife, “dirty ice” the top of the cupcakes to cover the cake. Next, put the remaining icing into a piping bag with a small round tip.
Before piping, use the tip of an offset spatula or butter knife to make a line down the middle of each cupcake. This will help when you begin the piping. Next, pipe different sections of squiggles on each side of the brain. No two brains are alike, so it’s totally okay for these to look slightly different.
To finish, whisk the corn syrup, baking cocoa, and a few drops of red food coloring. Then, right before serving, drizzle a little “blood” over the top of the brains to add some dimension. Serve and enjoy!
I hope these creepy Halloween dinner party ideas help you have the best party ever! Happy Halloween!
