First and foremost, your decor needs to hit the main elements: enchantment and forest. For that to happen, you’ve got to have to either have your party outside in your backyard or near a park or create the outdoors inside. Amazon has a ton of backdrops you can use if the weather isn’t working or you don’t have a good public green space, and this one hits both the forest and enchantment elements. It’s a beautiful addition to an enchanted forest themed party.

If you want something that is a little more forest-y, then this is going to hit the mark really well!

Once you’ve got a backdrop for photos or even games, it’s a good idea to make sure the rest of your decor adds to that outdoor feel. Putting some hanging ivy over door ways or along tables is a great way to incorporate nature. To add a little enchantment, try putting up some fairy lights in the ivy or across the room. This fairy light curtain is sure to add to the ambience of any room. In addition to the wall decorations, having a good table cloth is a must and this one will surely add a little bit of enchantment to any table. Lastly, call on your house plants to pull double duty and create some true forest inside.

Next thing you’ve got to think about are the tableware. Big Dot of Happiness has a fantastic woodland animal set that would work lovely for either a little girl or boy.

As far as food goes, you’ve got some options there are well. Start with your cake! It can be soft and woodland inspired like this one.

It’s enchanting and sweet at the same time.

Or if you’re prepping for a little girl’s party, then perhaps her enchanted forest is full of unicorns. In which case, a cake like this is completely necessary.

Then for foods you’re going to want to stick to enchanted essentials: spider’s silk (cotton candy), edible bark (pretzels dipped in chocolate), deer droppings (whoppers or other chocolate coated candies), acorns (chocolate dipped strawberries with one end dipped in crushed nuts), Wood swirls (sugar/chocolate rolled cookies), magical mushrooms (simple a piece of string cheese topped with a slice of apple peel side up). You could also give them sparkling water to drink, or make it a fairy potion and add a little dry ice.

For games and entertainment: Musical Mushrooms (think musical chairs using round placemats instead), have magical ones decorate a bottle of pixie dust, play Under the Limb (like limbo, but with a tree branch), or Hide-n-Find (have little woodland animals or faeries hidden for the kiddos to find.

And there you have it! Happy Birthday one and all!
