If your Easter is full of littles clamoring for more candy, then chances are you’re going to want to have a few games in your back pocket to help the time go by and burn off some of the candy high. You’ve come to the right place! I’ve gathered up some fun and interactive games that all tie into Easter but can be played indoors or outdoors so you’re not stuck dealing with weather.
Easter Games
Game 01: The Easter Bunny Says
This is a game that can be intricate or as simple as you’d like. Purchase a bag of plastic eggs and fill each one with a command. First, separate your littles into two groups and give each group the same amount of eggs. Next, have a judge or two on hand to make sure kids are completing their tasks fully. Last, set a timer and have the kids act out what’s on their eggs. Here are some ideas for commands:
- Hop like a bunny
- Shake your bunny tail
- Juggle two Easter Eggs
- Twitch your nose
- Dress like a bunny
- Deliver the eggs
Game 02: Easter Relay
Start by dividing your littles into two teams and creating your course. Set a little every 3-4 feet with a plastic egg. The way the relay works is this: A little starts by putting an egg into a basket like this. Next, the basket then goes on top of their head. Then they start to hop to the next little ahead of them. Last, when the first little reaches the second, they pass off the basket, the second little adds an egg, and then continues hopping on their way. The group that reaches the end the fastest with the most eggs wins!
Game 03: Capture the Egg
Start by putting a hula hoop in the middle of your play area. This serves as the “basket” for the game. One little is designated as the “bunny” and gets to wear bunny ears like these! The rest of the littles are “eggs” which must be gathered into the basket. The goal is for the “bunny” to tag each egg and send them to the basket. Finally, once all the eggs are in the basket, it’s time to designate a new bunny!
Game 04: Jelly Bean Jump!
For this game you need a bag of jelly beans, two plates for each contestant, and a straw for each contestant. Give each contestant the same amount of jelly beans on one plate. The goal is for them to move the jelly beans from one plate to the other only using the suction from their straw. The first little to transfer them all, wins! This might be a little messy but this might be one of my favorite Easter games!
Game 05: Giant Egg Decoration Race
This game requires that each team has a large white garbage bags with arm and leg holes cut out, several bags of Easter grass, and streamers. On the count off, each team must “dress” one of their group in the garbage bag. Next, they stuff the garbage bag with the Easter grass. Lastly, they decorate the outside with the crepe paper. The team who finishes and does the best job wins!
Game 06: Peep on a String
Start by stringing a peep on some twine and hanging them from a bar or doorway. Line up the littles and have them put their hands behind their backs. One the count of three, have them try to eat their peeps without their hands!
Game 07: Musical Baskets
This game is similar to Musical Chairs-just with a fun Easter twist! First, have the littles circle up with their baskets. You want to have one less basket than littles. Second, play some music and have the littles hop around the baskets and when the music stops, they have to grab a basket. Last, the little who doesn’t grab a basket is the one who’s out.
I hope you have a “hoppy” Easter with these Easter games!
