You’ve woken in a strange place: brickish greenery blocks the square sunshine, pixelated grass stays stationary beneath your feet, and a white creature flapping past just dropped a cube at your feet.
Open your inventory (E), because we have a lot of work to do if you’re going to survive First Night.
What’s that? You only came here for tips on a birthday? I see.
In that case, don’t bother punching that chicken. You should pick up the egg, however. We’re going to need it for making a cake.
I recommend a design like this brick one.
The recipe for yours may be simpler than 3 wheat, 2 sugar, that egg, and 3 milk. You’re going to want to wield a frosting tube and pick up your candy bar shards for the outside, though.
Quick! Guests will need some tools for eating.
Since forks and spoons don’t really resemble picks, swords, or axes; we’re going to go with a few pretend torches, instead.
Necessary supplies include yellow spoons, orange forks, yellow or orange napkins and tissue paper, and a pixelated brown sheath.
Gah! First Night’s hit us, anyway! It’s a… it’s a… Oh.
It’s a pizza.
You may notice your party guests calling it a pizzzzzza. If you were a Creeper, you’d undersssstand.
Of all the Rice Krispie Treat ideas on this website, this one is the blockingly best.
Rice Krispies make sand, Cocoa Pebbles are dirt, and Rice Krispies with black gel coloring will get you that bedrock.
Hey -gel is definitely cheaper than a diamond pickaxe.
After everyone’s vanquished those Creeper pizzas, they’ll be thrilled to learn you’ve acquired enough gun powder for some Red Vines.
There isn’t licorice in Minecraft! Gun powder makes for some TNT.
If the kids start worrying, just assure them you’re fresh out of redstone torches. They’ll understand.
I’ve got a ssssoft spot for Creepers. What can I say? It’s the expressive face.
That soft spot got squishier when I saw these Minecraft Marssshmallow Creepers.
This is a serious craft. You’ll need a brewing stand of culinary levels, green sugar, gelatin, granulated white sugar, light corn syrup, cold water, vanilla, and black frosting for facial features.
You may need to save up experience points for this one, but they’re worth it.
Who doesn’t love smacking a piñata? It’s certainly better than what else the kids might hit at the party.
Though, they might be a bit hesitant to touch this one, given its possibly-volatile nature.
Speaking of, bonus points to a party-planner who makes the bat look like a redstone torch.
Did I say torch?
These are the ultimate party favor; or craft, depending on the ages of attendees.
Drag some paper over to your crafting tables; along with scissors, clear tape, and battery-operated tea lights.
I’ve heard Michael’s is a great source of glowing lights. It’s closer than The Nether.
Your Steve or Alex will be sorely disappointed if they spend an entire party not mining or crafting.
Bring in the mining block! And, that fancy cardboard pickaxe. (Just you wait -Notch will have one available next update.)
Akin to the punching-cups game you may have seen online, this version takes it to a Minecraft level. Create caches of prizes behind tissue squares inside an old fridge box.
And, the crafting? Grab a friend who hoards boxes for this one.
That, or have a box-making party with the kiddos for …a few weeks.
Once you’ve amassed enough world blocks, you’ll want to print out some exteriors. It will be faster than painting them, but that’s also an option.
The game? Who can build the best! Mix it up with contests like tallest, best-looking, most-interesting pattern, most-habitable -or, build two forts and have a snowball fight with rolled-up socks.
