DIY Family Halloween Costumes that aren’t “TRICKY”

Brooklyn July 31, 2018     No Comment

It’s just around the corner…Halloween! The holiday of candy, costumes, and craziness. So, here are some DIY family Halloween costumes that aren’t crazy or “tricky”.

Grease: Pink Ladies and T-Birds

This is an easy one to throw together in a pinch! All you need is boys in jeans with white t-shirts and sneakers. You can throw on some black leather jackets if you’ve got them, but white shirts and jeans will go a long way. As for the girls, pink poodle skirts, high pony tails, bobby socks and you’re good to go.

Role Reversal: Adults as kids, and kids as adults

This is a pretty fun one to put together. Have your kiddos dress as your profession (businessmen, nurses, teachers, doctors, etc.) while you dress as your kids!

Peter Pan and the Lost Boys

This is a great one that’s perfect for large groups! Have one Peter, a few Tinkerbells, and some Lost boys! Picking up clothing at the local second hand shop is a great way to put together outfits in an inexpensive way. Make them look truly “lost” by strategically cutting them up and getting them a little dirty.

Pac Man Family!

Have some of you be Pac Man, and some be the ghost! Start with black shirts and pants, then add the decor from there. Using yellow poster board cut out the Pac Man, then for the ghosts, use colored shirts and cut jagged edges at the bottom. Add some sporadic dots and eyes and you’re done!

CareBears

This is a great one for large groups too! Start with monochromatic shirt and pants, then using felt, cut out a white circle and make your emblem!

All else fails, check out Halloween Express or Halloween Costumes and purchase what you’re looking for.
